‘Video whacking’ (with projection mapping) is an exciting game where you have to be smarter, faster and more skilled than your opponent. You play against each other and each of you has a bat to whack with. Questions, riddles and reaction tests emerge from a moving interactive surface.
Whoever whacks the most correct answers, wins!
‘Video whacking’ was played for the first time at Cinekid Groningen 2014.
Currently there are two existing video whacking games, but new custom-made games can easily be created, including desired content. Some examples:
- A pop quiz where you hear a song and then have to whack the right band
- Quizzes for a special occasion such as weddings, bachelor parties, anniversaries, etc.
- Attracting attention at a convention or event
- Surveys using multiple choice questions
- IQ test
- Reaction test for the elderly
‘Video whacking’ is invented and made by:
Floris Maathuis – concept, construction and coding, Teackele Soepboer (concept and coding), PM ‘O Sullivan (concept and music), Ditmar van Dam (concept) and Sythe Veenje (concept and design)
